Founding Director

Marie is a self-taught floral designer, stylist and costume designer. Her background is in anthropology and journalism. Her work has appeared in publications such as D2 and she learned the art of arrangements at the Manhattan based florist Fox Fodder Farm. Her past years living in New York formed her to the floral designer she is today, now working day and night during the year to serve all of her very own costumers in Oslo and rest of the country.

If you had to sum up your 3 favorite flowers — anything from leafs to straws and reed—what would they be?

Maybe the dark red, almost mocca spike banana leafs, tiger tulips, a good orchid for ikebana arrangements.

What is it with the classic still-life arrangements that draw us in time after time — from an anthropologist perspective

Where does one start when describing the classic fundament for a still-life-like arrangement. I am so lucky to be able to spend entire days focused on floral art, beauty, creative expression, and the joy of being surrounded by copious amounts of flowers. It is such a special, seasonal aspect of the still-life reference, different time of year to be bearing witness to the culmination of all different blooms. Restorative and inspiring, it's an important reminder to take the time to be surrounded by nature's magic. It is just plain good for you. And the smell, I mean...
